Feel the Rhythm, Create the Melody: Guitar Education
The guitar is one of the world's most beloved and versatile instruments, appearing everywhere from intimate moments around a campfire to rock concerts filling giant stadiums, from the most elegant works of classical music to the improvisational spirit of jazz. Whether you want to accompany your favorite songs, compose your own music, or be part of a band, learning the guitar opens the doors of music wide for you. At Peska Sanat, we offer you the right guidance on your path to becoming the guitarist of your dreams.
Which Guitar is Right for You?
The world of guitar is very rich. Starting your journey with the right instrument is critical for your motivation.
- Classical Guitar: Thanks to its nylon strings, it is softer to play and is ideal especially for the fingerstyle technique. It is generally used in classical, flamenco, and Latin music. Like the piano, it offers the possibility of playing both bass and melody parts simultaneously with the fingers. It is a great starting point for beginners, especially children.
- Acoustic Guitar: Its steel strings produce a brighter and louder sound. It is perfect for strumming rhythms and accompanying songs with chords in genres like pop, rock, country, and folk. It is more suitable for playing with a pick.
- Electric Guitar: It needs an amplifier to be heard. It offers an endless spectrum of sounds from rock to metal, blues to jazz. The sound can be shaped as desired with effect pedals. It is indispensable for riffs, solos, and modern music genres.
- Bass Guitar: It is the rhythmic foundation of a band. Along with the drums, it holds the pulse of the music. It usually has 4 strings and forms the basic harmonic structure of the music.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best age to start playing the guitar?
It is generally considered ideal for children aged 8 and over. However, half-size or three-quarter-size classical guitars produced specifically for younger children are available. For adults, as long as there is the will to learn and the discipline to practice, no age is too late.
I'm afraid my fingertips will hurt. Is this true?
Initially, it is normal to experience some sensitivity in your fingertips, especially with a steel-string acoustic guitar. However, as you play regularly, a protective layer called a callus forms on the fingertips, and this sensitivity completely disappears.
Do I have to learn notation, or can I just play with TABs?
Using TABs may be sufficient at the beginning just to play your favorite songs. However, if you want to truly understand music, communicate with other musicians, and create your own music, learning notation will open up a much wider horizon for you. At Peska Sanat, we teach both in a balanced way.
